Calculate Your GPA
UNDERGRADUATE
To calculate your GPA multiply the numerical equivalent of the grade earned in each course by the number of credit hours for the course (see the example below).
Grade |
Numerical Equivalent |
A |
4.00 |
B |
3.00 |
C |
2.00 |
D |
1.00 |
F |
0.00 |
Course | Grade with Equivalent | Credit Hours | Grade Points Earned |
ETHC-232 | A = 4 | 3 | 4 x 3 = 12 |
MATH-114 | B = 3 | 4 | 3 x 4 = 12 |
BUSN-115 | C = 2 | 3 | 2 x 3 = 6 |
COMP-100 | B = 3 | 2 | 3 x 2 = 6 |
Totals | 12 | 36 | |
36/12 = 3.0 GPA |
GRADUATE
The calculation method is the same as in the undergraduate example; however, there are more possible numerical equivalents (see the example below).

Course | Grade with Equivalent | Credit Hours | Grade Points Earned |
MGMT520 | A- = 3.7 | 3 | 3.7 x 3 = 11.1 |
MATH533 | B+ = 3.3 | 3 | 3.3 x 3 = 9.9 |
ACCT504 | B = 3.0 | 3 | 3.0 x 3 = 9 |
Totals | 9 | 30 | |
30/9 = 3.33 GPA |
