Served as guest lecturer and panelist in the areas of Healthcare Management and Planning at several local, regional and national healthcare association and society meetings and several local colleges and universities for nursing, medical records and health management students. Served as Project Coordinator and Senior Consultant on various projects involving strategic and operational planning, organizational and staff development, medical staff development planning, long range and facility planning, along with the development of new and evaluation of existing services. Served as COO of a 450-bed hospital, with responsibility for day to day operations, planning and medical staff activities. Directed and managed in excess of $50M in new construction and renovation projects involving complete ancillary department replacement and approximately 300 remodeled and 100 replacement hospital beds. Developed a multi-hospital corporation to plan, build and operate a $3M MRI facility. This joint venture was completed within budget and exceeded original estimates in terms of initial payback and profits. Due to initial planning elements the facility has doubled in size continues to be profitable. Evaluation and recommendation activities concerning several merger and affiliation plans involving both healthcare facilities and other outside organizations Represented and coordinated hospital activities related to the formation of HEALTHNETWORK, Inc., a multi-hospital preferred provider network and TPA for both commercial and self-insured health insurance programs.. Directed the development of the hospitals overall risk management and self-insurance program. Instituted numerous other cost containment programs
